Sub-Zero repair in Bedford: freezers, ice makers and every built-in.
Independent specialists for the Town of Bedford and northern Westchester.
Most of our Bedford calls are refrigeration — a freezer that frosts over, an ice maker that quit after an outage, a fresh-food side running warm. We test before we replace and quote before we start; the $95 visit counts toward the bill.

What Bedford calls about
Three calls we take every week.
“No ice since the storm”
Sub-Zero units come back from a power failure in Sabbath Mode if they were in it, and Sabbath Mode keeps the ice maker off. Hollow or tiny cubes point to the filter or well pressure instead.
Typical $250–$650 · read more →
02“Frost on the freezer floor”
Warm, moist air is getting in or the defrost system has stopped clearing the coil. The door seal is checked first — it is the cheaper answer.
Typical $300–$800 · read more →
03“Warm fridge, frozen freezer”
Sub-Zero Classic units run separate refrigeration systems for each side, so one can fail while the other is fine. It narrows the diagnosis to that side's fan, defrost, sensor or sealed system.

Why Bedford is different
Wells, outages and older houses.
Private wells. Pressure that cycles with the well pump and sediment in the line are hard on refrigerator filters, fill valves and ice makers. Sub-Zero rates its Classic (CL) and Designer (DET, DEC) filter for 750 gallons or twelve months — on a well, watch the cubes rather than the calendar.
Storm outages. Keep the doors shut: a full freezer holds a safe temperature for about 48 hours with the door closed (24 if half full). When power returns, give a built-in 24 hours before judging it.
Older houses, newer kitchens. Built-ins fitted into older cabinetry often lack the airflow the manufacturer wants. Sub-Zero warns that a Designer kickplate must never be covered or enclosed.
What we repair
Refrigeration first, then the rest of the kitchen.
Every visit starts with the $95 diagnostic, credited toward the repair. Typical ranges for each job are on the pricing page.
After you call
What a Bedford visit looks like
- 01
Model, serial and one line about the problem
Call (475) 465-5086. A photo of the rating plate and a short description — "no ice since the storm", "frost on the freezer floor" — lets us bring the likely parts.
- 02
A window, not a guess
Most Bedford, Bedford Hills and Katonah calls get a same-day or next-morning window. If there is a gate or a long drive, tell us the code or who will meet us.
- 03
Tested before anything is replaced
The $95 diagnostic pays for the testing and is credited toward the repair. You see the price in writing before a part goes in.
- 04
Repaired and explained
Common Sub-Zero and Wolf parts travel on the truck. Every repair carries a 1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty, and you get a plain note of what failed and what to watch.

What Bedford homeowners say.
“The upper section of our built-in crept up to fifty degrees while the freezer stayed rock solid. Turned out the condenser fan motor had seized and the compartment was heat-soaking. New motor, coils vacuumed out, back to normal by dinner.”
“Our wine cabinet had been drifting a couple of degrees warmer each week and I only caught it from the display log. The lower thermistor was reading low and the door seal had flattened at one corner. Both replaced, and it has held steady since.”
“Three cycles to dry one load. He gauged the vent, pulled the pedestal, and found the flex duct crushed flat and packed with lint. Rebuilt that run in rigid pipe. One cycle does it now.”
Answers
Before you call: common Bedford questions.
Can someone come today if the freezer is warm?
Usually today or tomorrow morning. Call (475) 465-5086 early in the day — Bedford, Bedford Hills and Katonah calls get a same-day or next-morning window in most cases, and common Sub-Zero and Wolf parts travel on the truck.
Do I need Sub-Zero's own service for a repair?
No. We are an independent repair service, not affiliated with Sub-Zero, Wolf or any manufacturer. Parts are genuine OEM, and the work carries a 1-Year Parts & Labor Warranty.
What does a Sub-Zero repair in Bedford usually cost?
Ice makers $250–$650, freezers $300–$800, common refrigerator faults $300–$750; a compressor or sealed-system job $800–$2,200. You get the firm price after testing and before any work, and the $95 visit is credited.
Water under the Sub-Zero: how urgent is it?
Fairly. Water on the floor most often means a blocked defrost drain, an ice-maker fill problem or a failing supply line, and it damages floors and cabinetry if it continues. Shut off the water to the unit if you can and call.
We are on a well. Does that matter for the refrigerator?
For the ice maker and dispenser, yes. Sub-Zero specifies the supply pressure by model (20–100 or 35–120 psi), and sediment shortens filter life. Hollow cubes and slow fills are the usual signs.
